FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

  • HOW DO I PLACE AN ORDER?
    Get in touch We recommend touching base with us via our website, email or Whatsapp, particularly if you need your order by a particular date or have any other queries. Send us your hair and order forms. Our address for courier, Postnet and PUDO can be found on the order forms. You are welcome to send us your forms electronically if you don't want to print them. The order forms are available under the "Prices" tab on the website menu. We do our thing. Once we have your hair and order details we will put your order into production. We will contact you if any queries arise from our side.
  • HOW LONG WILL MY ORDER TAKE?
    Please allow 6-8 weeks lead time for the making process. We realise this means a little patience on your part, but we like to think that the end results are worth waiting for. We are sometimes able to commit to a shorter completion period for a special occasion but this must be communicated and confirmed with us prior to placing your order. For more information please read the section on orders and payment.
  • HOW MUCH HAIR DO I NEED?
    We've put together a table which gives an indication of how much hair is need for each type of design. You can find it, along with other commonly-asked queries about hair here.
  • WILL MY JEWELLERY WITHSTAND HEAVY WEAR?
    Like any other fine jewellery items, care needs to be taken when wearing our jewellery. Provided you look after it, it should last many years. You can find more information on caring for your jewellery here.
  • CAN I COMBINE HAIR FROM MORE THAN ONE HORSE INTO A SINGLE PIECE OF JEWELLERY?
    Absolutely. Just be sure to identify and separate the hair from each horse when you send it to us. We apply a small surcharge when hair from 3 or more horses is combined.
  • DO YOU WORK WITH HAIR FROM OTHER ANIMALS?
    The short answer is yes, but there are some limitations. Hair from other animals is usually not long or strong enough for braiding, however it can easily be incorporated into any of our resin or glass pieces which are available as pendants, earrings or charms for Pandora-type bracelets. To date we’ve worked with hair from dogs, cats, rabbits and even a pet springbok!
  • CAN YOU WORK WITH ASHES?
    Yes. All our resin pieces can be cast with ashes inside them.
